Valerie:

I have been researching the Acklins of southwestern PA fairly extensively and do have a record of your Roy J. Acklin, son of John Leslie Acklin and Edith Richard. My information suggests that Edith died about 1910 and John married second Margaret Mary Melvin. I don't have any more information on Edith, but have a friend who is researching a Richard family that was in Westmoreland County - there might be a connection.

John Leslie Acklin was the son of Samuel Acklin and Emma J. Nyswaner (I also have a friend researching Niceswongers-not the branch that ended up in southwestern PA, but, again, there might be a connection).

Samuel was the son of James Acklin and Jane Crayne. I haven't proven any father for James, but have some ideas of who he might be.

If you'd like further information, I can send you some more. Contact me directly.

Jesse
