Quoting in part Jesse's Post:

"Christopher Acklin (b ?, resided in Virginia) can be found in "Scotch Irish Settlers in Virginia" by Chalkley. He is the son of John Acklin (b ?) who was Master of "The Paul of London" as was his father Lionel (supposedly from "Founders of New England" by Drake). Lionel is also mentioned in "roster of Persons Leaving Port of London 1609" published by VA Historical Society (again from my Aunt's notes).
I have a little problem with Lionel being Christopher's grandfather. If Christopher was born in 1745, his grandfather leaving London in 1609 is a bit far fetched. Somewhere, methinks someone has left out a generation; or, someone was long lived and had a number of wives.
