My maternal lineage contains many Ackermans. Although my ancestor, David Ackerman, Sr. (m)Lysbeth de Villiers (or Bellier) on 16 Sep 1641, in RDC's Hertogenbosch, N. Brabant, Neth.) did not actually come ashore on American ground on his own (he drowned at sea 1662 from the ship D VOS-the Fox, near NYC, NY shore) his family was the first of my lineage to settle in America. He and Lysbeth brought at least 6 children with them. Lysbeth remarried 29 Jan 1668 to Kier Wolthers, She was 52 at that time. She died soon after this 2nd marriage (after 29 Jan 1668-1669, Harlem, NY. I have quite a bit of data on David's ancestry & descendants if you are interested. Am most willing to share.
