Most of the Ackermans came from the Rheinland-Pfalz area of Germany, specifically Zweibruecken, Germany which is very close to the French border. Also the name Kuhn or Kuhns is from the same area, specifically Blickvila, a hamlet of Blieskastel. Suggest you contact that area for information. - Ray
