I am one of a group working on an official history of the Wisconsin 23rd Regiment . One of our men is Greenleaf Ackerman who was the son of Robert Ackerman b. 20 Jun 1797; d. 19 Dec 1877 at Dekorra, WI, son of Robert Ackerman, Sr. & Roxalene Child. Robert, Jr. m. Hannah Eddy on 7 Feb 1822 in NY. He m. (2) Lois Ring in 1851 & (3) to Jane Todd, mother of Maria in 1856 at White Creek, WI
Robert, Jr. children were Greenleaf (b. 20 Jan 1832 at Brownsville Twp, Jefferson Co., NY); Emily; Lydia; Anson: Roxalene: Newton: Jane; Hulda; Elizabeth; Daniel; James Burnet; Mark. I have dates for the children if you need them.
The family came to Waukesha Co. WI in 1847 & lived at Walwort & Racine counties before moving to Columbia Co., WI in 1851 Freenleef enliste 15 Aug 1862. I have more if you need it. E-mail me please.
