I was told my family came from Germany with their name first being (1)Hagerman then changing to (2)Acreman, (3)Ackerman. I am trying to prove who My Great Grandfathers Parents were. James Alfred Ackerman (b.January 19, 1838 d. March 22, 1913) married Mary Ellen Willis (b. August 09, 1846 d.September 13, 1911) both born and died in Sheridan, Colleton, CO., SC. I have been told his parents were Stephen Oliver Ackerman (b. March 16, 1785 d. March 8, 1849) married to Elizabeth Rebecca Koger (b. October 28, 1786 d. 1822) If you notice her time of death makes it impossible for her to be My Great-Grand fathers Mother because she died before he was born. Stephen Oliver Ackerman did re-marry 2 other times but I haven't been able to place James Alfred Ackerman with them either. I am not sure then who his sibblings were or anything. I was also told either he and one of his sisters were twins or he had a brother and sister who where twins. Does any of this look familiar to anyone? I would be appreciative of any info you may have that you want to share.
