Robert Ackerman had three sons who came to Black Hawk Co, Waterloo, IA in the mid 1850's. It is recorded as Ackerment when they came over, but do not find any record of when it became Ackerman. Sons were: John William; Daniel (no nothing of him, he was to have lived in Queensland); Robert Jr.; and George. He also had a daughter who married an I.W.(D) Dickerson and moved to South Dakota. This line of Ackermans were born in England.
