I may be telling you info. you already know...forgive me if I am. But the Ackerman line can go WAY, WAY back in Paterson, NJ to the founding of Paterson. There is a book, the name escapes me at the moment, poss. The History of Paterson, NJ? Which may give you background. I would think that as long as they have been there, that there should be more recent info. of same family. Poss. stating the obvious: check Family History Center of LDS library for poss. books.
