I'm looking for any information I can get on William Ackerman, came to America sometime in the 1840's or 50's from Frankfurt, Germany.He was born in 1833 and died in NYC in 1899. He was a Capt of the 62 NYV during the Civil War. He had at least two brothers here, not sure of names. His son, Frederick, was born in 1861-married Charlotte Smith in 1880's, is my great grandfather and I'm trying to get more information.
