I'm planning a fall trip to upstate NY (Ft. Plain area and Schoharie) to follow up on some thready family info. We seem to have hit the wall with Munson, his father is listed on the Mormon website as John E Acker, b. 1813 (Schoharie, NY); married Eleanor. I hope to verify this, but as a relative newbie in genealogy research, am having difficulty in reconciling all the very different spellings of the surname. Too many variations on John Acker! I am descended from Adolph, son of Munson, son of Munson, and am looking for any cross-references you might offer.

Now I'm desperately combing through "Shults" records to establish the connection. Thanks.
