I am researching Jacob Acker, born in PA, died in OH. Here is what I have on Jacob and his son Elias.
126 Elias B. ACKER. BORN on 4 Feb 1863 in Medina County, OH. RESIDED in 133 Carroll Street, Akron, OH (This is an area around the University of Akron) in 1883. DIED on 1 Sep 1889 in Akron, Summit, OH. BURIED aft 1 Sep 1889 in Section 10, lot 30, Grave 3 Glendale Rural Cemetery, Akron, Ohio.35 Employed abt 1883 at Machinist at W.C. & L Machine Company. CAUSE OF DEATH: Consumption.35 Listed on 1880 Census.
He married Mary Catharine HOWE, in 1883 in Akron, Summit, OH. They had the following children:

252 Jacob ACKER. BORN in 1823 in PA. RESIDED in Portage Township, Summit, OH on 1 Jul 1885. DIED on 26 Sep 1893 in Akron, OH. BURIED aft 26 Sep 1893 in Glendale Rural Cemetery, Akron, OH. Section 26 lot 11 grave 14. Employed at Empire Mower and Reaper Works owned by John F. Seiberling, one of the founders of Goodyear (Carpenter per census). RESIDENCE: 605 W. Exchange Street, (1884 directory) and is only two blocks away from Carroll where Elias lived. Listed on 1850 Census. Listed on 1870 Census. Listed on 1880 Census.
1850 Census for Guilford, Medina County, OH where Elias was said to be born, there is a Jacob Aker, 27 yrs, born PA (1823). He is listed as a Carpenter; married to Elvisa or Elvira born in PA age 29 and a son Henry age 3 months born in OH. Since he is not listed in later census, could he have died before Elias was born? Akron and Summit County by Ex-Sheriff Samuel A. Lane 1892
Next door was Michael Aker, 22 born in PA married to Mary 23 born in PA and daughter 8 months born in OH. Five houses away with the family of Nathan Cook was Henry Aker 17 yrs a laborer born in OH.
