I am great great grandaughter of David DePeyster Acker born abt, 1820 in Bergen Co. NJ, m. Eleanor Maria Vanderbilt (1) and Julia Whitney (2). Founded the firm of Acker, Merrall and Condit "purveyors of fine groceries" in NYC and boroughs.

Unable to trace line back any further. His father purported to be David Acker and mother Sarah Stagg, but unable to confirm or find dates. Dutch ancestry.

Have you come across any info pertaining to these persons? Would appreciate any help, as I am somewhat of an amateur.
