I am also researching Ackers and do have some info on decendents of Peter Acker Sr. and Jane Sutherland.Much of it is from the book-history of the Acker-Halbert Family by E.D.Acker.Sure wish I could find a copy!There is a Joseph Acker born in 1774 to Peter Acker Sr. He married a Ruth Alexander in S.C.There are 14 children listed including Columbus .The family moved to Cherokee Co.,Tx in1850.If you think this is your Ackers let me know and I will try to organize this and get it to you. P.S.they moved fromAla. to Tx.
