I have been searching for an elusive Acker ancestor in New York myself, and have mapped all of the Acker clans from the 1790 census to the 1820 census; I have extensive family tree information on the Tarrytown, Westchester clans (there were three large families in this area)as they were well documented in public records and have several Revolutionary ties. I have not come across any census Ackers in Charleston, NY and I do not see a Lewis attached to these families circa 1815. I would be happy to share anything that I have that may be of interest on the Westchester families...I have an older IGI set of listings and did not see a Lewis appear until the 1850's. Let me know of any additional information you may have and I'll see if I can make a connection for you.
