This information may not be useful, but you are looking for a fairly distinctive name. In the 1820 census for Orwell, Oswego co., NY there is a Cornelius Acker. It would not be Cornelius b. 1811, but could it be his father? People from Oswego co. did go west to Michigan in large numbers. Good luck on your search.
