Carol -
Am wondering if you have discovered the parentage of George married Lydia since posting this message. My father is deeply involved in genealogy and now so am I. After finishing his major lines, he is now working on maternal lines marrying into his. One of those lines is Acker, Lehigh Co and he is now completely absorbed in the entire line. I know he does have George and Lydia, son Joel etal and so far he has not been able to definitely identify the parentage of George because of too many possibilities. We do know that almost all 1700's Ackers (or maybe all) in the Lehigh County, then Northampton Co. area are descendants of Philip Jacob Acker, immigrant, age 36 in 1732 aboard the ship Loyal Judith into Philadelphia. He traveled with his brother Heinrich (b. 1700) and wife. Philip Jacob and Heinrich were in Montgomery County for a short time and then came to Upper Macungie Twp, Lehigh Co. (Macungie Twp, Northampton Co. in the 1700's). Philip Jacob was involved in the founding of Ziegel's Church circa 1750. We descend from his son Philip Jacob b. 1736 married Ebertardtina Heisler (Huessler). Heinrich was not here long. After a few years he went south into Bucks County and helped found Keller's Church where his info can be found. We have so much info at this point that it make take years to unravel all of it. Even though many of Ziegel's records are already available, we have just learned that more have been found in some sort of strongbox and translation, publication of those records is planned. We have been told to expect to see them in perhaps two years. My father is hoping these records may solve a lot of Acker dilemnas. In the meantime we plan to proceed and are looking for any connections to this family.
