Since I wrote that query, I've been in contact with another close family member.

My William Henry Acker was born June 1, 1855 in Oxford, NJ and married Emma Koons(Kunz)- they are buried in Dunmore Cemetary.

His father was William J. Acker, born Jan 10, 1822 in Oxford, NJ married Catherine Wertz, died May 30, 1897 in Scranton and is buried with his wife in Dunmore Cemetary.

I don't know if any of this helps you. i need to find out about the Oxford Nj Ackers - perhaps they moved there from PA?
