I am working back from Virginia to PA on a
Peter OATYER (b 1751 NJ [Ref. Obit]- d 1834
Loudoun Co. Va.). Peter's name was spelled many
different ways in court records but his
children went by the spelling of ETCHER.
I have seen ACHER and recently in a York
Co. PA record I found a Peter ATECH along with
Lefever.

Peter's children were: John (died prior to
father) but married and had offspring;
Catherine (1781-1850) md. Jacob Caylor and
moved to Fayette Co. Ohio; Mary md. William
Lafaber/Lafaver and remained in Loudoun Co.
Va.; Elizabeth md. John Maffett/Moffett and
remained in Va; Ann md. ?? Caylor (this may be
Susanna and Adam Caylor also found in Fayette
Co. Ohio).

Recent research on the Lafaver family has
led me to Adams Co. PA and the Christ Reformed
Church of Littlestown (SE of Gettysburg)
where I found in the records of the cemetery
Lafaver, Calers, Eckert and a Henry Arter
(b 1838). The history of the church says
that the Germans came from the Palatinate
into NY, through NJ and then to PA.

While I am not connected with the Lafavers
I am aware of those that settled around
Peter Oatyar in Loudoun Co. Va.

I am very interesting in learning more
about Peter Acker 1753-1832 and where he
lived in PA and VA.

Ann
