THANKS PAUL, I DID NOT HAVE THE DATE OR HIS FATHER'S NAME.This means I can do further research to see if there is a connection to my line of Johnston.
I think the Achesons and Johnstons married each other often. This I have seen in writing. So it appears 2 William Johnstons, married 2 sisters.
My ancestor Sir William Johnston is of Gilford Castle, Son of Richard and this other William Ballynemetagh, Co. Antrim son of Sir George.I havethe latter with2 sons and a daughter; names unknown.
I have it here that Henrietta went on to marry 2ndly Acheson Moore, who I would guess is some sort of Acheson cousin, though I have not got it worked out how they may be related.I would like to know how, as it would add to the lines of connection in my tree.
You will recall, the 2 sister's brother Arthur is father to the first Viscount Gosford, and his grandson is the first Earl of Gosford.
BTW, some one contacted me from S America with the marriage contract ofmy ancestors Anne Taylor and Sir William Acheson, they of course wanted huge money and there was no guarantee I'd really ever see the item if I paid $6000.Luckily they sent okay quality photos, which I have saved, they refused to scan it.
Thanks for your help, I am always interested in followups.
David
