RUSHVILLE - Wanda Jean Acheson, 74, of Rushville died Saturday, Oct. 28, 2006, at Culbertson Memorial Hospital in Rushville. She was born Sept. 19, 1932, in Buena Vista Township, the daughter of Howard Burton and Irma Nell Corbridge Walker. She married Rollin Gene Acheson in 1951 in Rushville. A daughter, Janice Marlene Wiley, preceded her in death. Mrs. Acheson graduated from Rushville High School in 1950. She was a legal secretary for Garrison & Crandall Law Office in Rushville and then farmed with her husband in Bainbridge Township and from 1958 to 1961 on a dairy farm near Rockford. She was a member of First United Methodist Church in Rushville, Goodwill Sunday school class, Wesley Ann Circle, United Methodist Women, Schuyler Home Extension, Bainbridge Area Women's Club and Be-kik-a-nin-ee Chapter of the National Society of Daughters of the American Revolution, where she served as chaplain for many years. Survivors: husband, Gene; two sons, Larry (wife, June) Acheson of Plano, Texas, and Alan (wife, Holly) Acheson of rural Rushville; daughter, Linda (husband, Terry) Cockerill of Jacksonville; 10 grandchildren; a niece; and three nephews. Services: 11 a.m. Wednesday, First United Methodist Church, Rushville, the Rev. Mary Arnold and the Rev. Paul Arnold officiating. Interment: Rushville City Cemetery.
