I am new to this forum and I’m a descendant of the Robinsons from Westmeath Twp which is just outside Pembroke, Ontario, Canada. I note with interest postings re David Acheson b 1839 Ireland & Margaret Robinson b 1839 Ireland who were married in 1862 in Pembroke, Ontario, Canada and moved to Iowa.
Does anyone have any information other than the actual marriage record which I have seen for David & Margaret that Margaret’s mother’s name was ‘Marion McKinnon’ - for example, family bible info, family word of mouth, burial certificate etc? Margaret Robinson Acheson’s information corresponds very closely with my Margaret Robinson who moved to the US mid west in the same time frame, whose father was ‘James’ but her mother’s name was NOT ‘Marion McKinnon’. I am looking for a possible discrepancy in that name. Does anyone know where in Ireland Margaret was born? Also, it has been posted that Margaret’s family were living in the Westmeath/Ross Twp area. Can anyone corroborate this?
