ken, this may help...my forefather james acheson (1645) married margaret welsh; their issue included among others a son john acheson (1670) married to matilda fordyce (1699) and john's sister also named matilda (acheson)who married the other matilda's brother samuel fordyce; both fordyce's father was john fordyce. this is similar but not exactly like your scenario. hope it helps. sorry if it is by the by. regards, m a r k
