Deepwater / Appleton Kansas Atcheson/Atchison
Posted by: Robert Atcheson Date: February 05, 2002 at 01:07:38

I have traced my grandfather Stewart Atcheson(horse trader, carpenter, county clerk, mason) to the Deepwater and Appleton Kansas area, where he may have been born in 1856. There were at least three brothers, William, Stewart, and David, and one sister (unnamed). The spelling varied between Atcheson, Atchison and Acheson. The father, David, reportedly came from Northern Ireland. Ring any bells?
