William ACHESON-Mary STUART 1850-1860 NY Census

I'm researching William ACHESON and his second wife Mary STUART, my gg-grandparents, and have located them on the NY Census. In 1850 William, age 73 born Ireland and Mary, age 52 also listed as born in Ireland are living in the Tenth Ward of New York City, NY County with William A. 34, Eliza 23, Samuel 19, John 17, Mary 15, David 13, Sarah 11, and Isaac age 9. In 1860 Mary ACHEISON is listed as head of household in the Tenth Ward, 4th District, New York City, NY County age 64 b NY with real estate valued at $30,000 and personal property at $10,000. Also listed, John 27 (doctor), Mary 25, David 23, Sarah 21, Eliza 30, Isaac 18 and servant Mary Blife 24 b Baden. Noted with each child is a listing of $6,000 in real estate and $4,000 personal property. This research would indicate to me that William was deceased prior to June 15, 1860. The values of the real estate and personal property appears to be high for that period in history. Can any of the Acheson researchers shed any light on this family unit? Who are the parents of William Acheson? What was his occupation?
