Hello Ralph,

I enjoyed your comments and family website. Are your ancestors from Puerto Rico and if so, from where?

I've done extensive research on my family tree and if you have access to ancestry.com, you could find it under Acevedo Pitre.

BTW, I read long ago that it was a cabin boy by the surname Acevedo that was responsible for sinking the Santa Maria. Apparently, he was on deck when the night watchman/crew fell asleep and he took that opportunity to play with the steering mechanism. And the ship was "steered" right onto the reefs. I didn't know his full name until I read your intro to your family website. Pedro de Acevedo. Where did you find this information and is he listed or connected with any of the families on the Iberian peninsuela?

Best,
David Acevedo Pitre
