Hello,
I am interested in finding out about my ancestors, where they originally came from, how they got to Puerto Rico, and if any of them were Sephardic Jewish.
My grand father was Cristobal Acevedo, born on November 16, 1905. I don't know if he ws born in Aguadilla, but he did live, work and die there. He had a pharmacy in Aguadilla. I don't know if he was a pharmacist or just owned the pharmacy. My understanding was that it was the only pharmacy in Aguadilla at the time (perhaps 40's - late 60's). My guess is that if anyone lived in Agualilla during that time, they would have know him. He married Carmen Alicea and had one son (Alfonso Cristobal - my dad). They divorced in the late 40's or early 50's, and he remarried and had three daughters who still live in Puerto Rico. I don't have contact with any family in Puerto Rico. I understand that my grand father was European looking, and there are rummors that his ancestors were from Spain.
I am looking for any information on Cristobal Acevedo of Aguadilla: family members, name of his pharmacy, names of his parents or grand parents. I am also interested in knowing if any of the Acevedo's in my lineage were Sephardic Jewish.
