ABSTON and TAYLOR Families in KY

My ggg grandmother was Melissa Abston Reaves Taylor. I assume Abston to be her maiden name. Her son, Samuel Taylor was in the Civil War in KY in the same company (Co A, South Cumberland Battalion) as Francis Abston. If anyone has information that connects these two families I would be excited. I have been at a standstill here for a long time!
