I do know that Lola was married very young. I think it was like 12 or so. Her mother died when she was young and her dad remarried. She lived on a boat for a bit and one of the floods
pushed it about 100 feet up the riverbank This was the Ohio close to Huntington
She did not talk very much about her first marriage. Infact it was not until after she passed that I found out she had been married before. I am still looking for my paper work but I did find a death cret. for her girl who was born 8/19/36 and passed 10/17/36 Her name was Thelma Lucille Abshire.
I understand that her and grandpa did help a number of kids during their lives.
Do you know anything about a lady named Sally? She lived with them for a bit in the 40's and early 50's?
My mother's family said that your grandfather's family had a Drug Store in the Huntington area and the girls use to go there alot.
I will try to find out more for you and sent it out. Could you please tell me more about what you might know about your side?
