I am the Great Grandson of Fred Abshere and Pearl Hooper. My Grandma was Mildred Elizabeth Abshere born Aug 15, 1911. Her brothers were Clarence Elmer Abshere, Herman Downs and her sister was Clara Downs. I don't have alot of information about Fred Abshere. I went to his grave in Texarkana, Arkansas in the 70's when I was a kid with my Grandma. He died when my Grandma Mildred was 2 years old. After Fred died, Pearl remarrried a man with the last name of Downs. Pearl died at the young age of 26 from Colon Cancer. I believe at this time Elmer and Mildred moved in with their Grandparents John Hooper and Frances Elizabeth Jackson. I would like to talk to Norman Abshere and share some great family stories.
