Hi Sandy,
This may be a longshot, but thought it was worth sending some information on an Abshire family from Tennessee. I found a WW1 registration for a Marion Turner Abshire showing a birthdate of April 29, 1893, born in Guthrie, Kentucky, then checked the 1900 census for an Abshire family with a son, Marion. I did find one, however, the birthdate was April 1898. I followed this family and some of them, including the mother, Mary, ended up in Brookline, Massachusetts. One of this Marion's brother's and a sister ended up in Florida (see deaths below). Also found death records in the Social Security Death Index for a Marion Abshire (born Apr 29, 1898) and an Annie R Abshire (born Aug 5, 1914) in Monroe, Tennessee.
I couldn't find Marion Abshire on either the 1920 or 1930 census although I tried several variations of the surname. As I indicated, this may not amount to anything, but perhaps you have some additional information, that will help you figure out if this is the right family.
