Hi does anyone know anything about Anthony de Abreu who came to Liverpool,with his family, in the early part of the last century. I believe he was Portuguese by birth but he was in Rio de Janeiro before he came to England and there is a theory that he was Postmaster General of Brazil at some stage.
I know that he had at least two daughters, Edith, also known as Beatrice, and Minnie. Beatrice married, firstly, someone by the name of Loock or possibly Von Loock though I know nothing of him, then her second husband, Ernest Portch.
Any information on his life, either in Brazil or in the UK would be very welcome.
