Thanks very much for the information, it is quite interesting. Once I was convinced that the Abreu in Isabela and Hatillo were the same family. I called several of the members from Isabela to find out the oral family history. Some of them agreed, but most disagreed. I am convinced thy are two different families.

Apparently you are correct, they are also from Canary Islands.

One of them told me that they arrived in PR first than those from Hatillo . They settled in Isabela. When the family group from Hatillo landed in PR,(Don Domingo Abreu Delgado and his wife, María Mercedes Reyes Mejías and their sibblings: Domingo, María, Alejandro, Luisa, Rafaela, Bernardina, Liboria and Josefa), around 1840, satayed with the family in Isabela for a while, and finally moved on to Hatillo.

I have several documents from the group from Isabela. I will e mail to you.

Thanks again for the information. Will appreciate any data you can have or get regarding the relation of this two groups of Abreu.

I wll e-mail some of the documents that I have obtained.
