Abrahamsson, Isak; 1861, Ingelstorp, SW
Searching for info on Isak Abrahamsson, b. 1 Feb 1861 (1860?) Ingelstorp parish, Skåne, Sweden; possibly in Hedvigsdal. D. 24 June, 1941, Manistee, MI.
Son of:
Abraham Jensen; d.1872 (?)
Maria N Swenson; d. 1869 (?)
He had a younger brother, Jakob, who remained in Sweden, and possibly 2 older brothers, who according to family tradition emigrated to Germany when Isak was a boy and refused to take him with them as he was considered too young.
Isak spent time with his future wife, Maria, and future inlaws, Hannah and Martin Petersson, working in Copenhagen and Bornholm before immigrating May 1890 to Manistee, Michigan.
In Michigan he married Maria Nilsson, b. 28 Feb 1866, Kverrstad, Skåne,SW; daughter of Nels Andersson and Elna Pierson. Maria immigrated April 1891 to Michigan along with her brother in law, Martin Petersson. Hannah, her sister (b. 19 Oct, 1854) came later, Sep. 1891, with the children, Karen, Niels Emil and Anna.
As Isak, Maria and Martin spent time together working in Denmark their names may be closer to Danish spelling, i.e. Abrahamsen, Nielsen, Pedersen.
I've had difficulty finding any info on Isak and Maria and Hannah in Sweden as well as the ships they came over on, or any record of them as passengers.
Any help would be appreciated.
