Ellen Boldman’s oldest son, Amel Boldman Jr. was a pilot in the WWII.His plane went down. As they were transporting his remains home, the C-47B plane went down after leaving Rangoon, Burma. Amel Jr. along with other men’s remains were never returned.
An organization worked with various entities within the U.S. and the new Burmese government to send a recovery team to modern Burma that located the crash site. The team worked to recover and returned the remains. Amel Boldman Jr. has been identified as one of the men they were able to recover.
The next step is the verification process. This process requires mitochondrial DNA identification.Amel Jr’s brother, Guy’s family doesn’t meet the correct profile. It requires DNA from any maternal descendent; Margaret Murray Abrams, Eva Abrams Schmmel, Myrtle Abrams Cittadino or any of their descendents male or female.
It was Grandma Ellen’s greatest wish to bring her son home to bury him in the United States. Identifying Buster’s remains would not only enable us to honor Lt Amel Boldman Jr, and Ellen Boldman as well. This is where I’m hoping you can help.We would like to ask if any descendents of Margaret Murray Abrams would participate in the DNA testing.
Any help you could provide would be greatly appreciated.
