County histories of Macon Co. IL only mention one ABRAMS family in the area in the 1820s, Josiah ABRAMS, who is
described as having moved from OH via Sangamon Co. IL. The only Josiah ABRAMS recorded in the 1820 census is found in Fairfield Co. OH, which is also where Henry ABRAMS Jr. of Turkeyfoot PA settled, as per county histories. This Henry ABRAMS Jr. is the son of Henry ABRAMS Sr. of Turkeyfoot PA, whom you will find much discussed on this forum (keyword = "Turkeyfoot"), and he is known per probate documents to have had a son Henry ABRAMS Jr. born about 1780. The names, places, and ages look right, so there might be a connection with your Delilah ABRAMS to this extended ABRAMS family (i.e., she might be a daughter of Josiah ABRAMS and granddaughter of Henry ABRAMS Jr.). The obvious thing to do is look in the probate records of Macon Co. OH, etc. Has this been checked yet? These records should be readily available throughout the USA via the LDS library system.
How was the connection made of your Delilah ABRAMS (1826 - 1895) to Decatur, Macon Co. IL?
