van + abrahams = VanAbrahams

This is a funny one...I am looking for my relatives and appear to have none on my father's side. My surname is VanAbrahams but I am told that my grandfather or ggrandfather had the MIDDLE name of van and added it to the last name abrahams. I was told the original abrahams in my line came from Holland to Australia to Chicago, IL. My grandfather's name is Arthur VanAbrahams and he died 1940-ish. He had two sons only. Any help at all would be greatly appreciated.
