ABRAHAM, William A., 90, of National Road, Wheeling, W.Va., died Thursday, March 10, 2005 in the Good Shepherd Nursing Home, Wheeling.

He was born January 11, 1915 in Latrobe, PA, the son of the late William F. and Louise M. Abraham.
An associate of the Northwestern Mutual Life Insurance Company for 61 years, Bill served as a Special and District Agent. He was graduated from Latrobe High School and attended Waynesburg College. He achieved the Chartered Life Underwriter Certification from the American College of Life Underwriters.

Bill was a member of the Edgewood Lutheran Church in Wheeling. He was a member of the Wheeling Rotary Club, serving as President and Secretary, was a Paul Harris Fellow, and had 51 years of perfect attendance. He also belonged to the Upper Ohio Valley Life Underwriters' Association, the Wheeling-Oglebay Tennis Club, the FOP, and the Elks. Bill served on the Board of the Wheeling YMCA.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a brother, Robert, of Latrobe, PA.

Surviving are his wife, Jean Biller Abraham; two sons, William C. (Mary Ann) of St. Clairsville, OH and Thomas R. (Sue O.) of Wheeling, WV; a daughter, Gretchen Detamore (Richard) of Huntington, WV; grandchildren, Mary Beth Petrie of Columbus, OH, Michael Chittum of Wilmington, NC, David Chittum of Barboursville, WV, William Abraham of Douglasville, GA, Betsy Delk, Zachary Abraham and Seth Abraham, all of Wheeling, WV; 11 great-grandchildren.

Family and friends will be received at the Kepner Funeral Home, National Road, at Bethany Pike, Wheeling. Calling hours will be held Sunday, March 13, 2005, from 2-5 p.m. where services will be held Monday, March 14, 2005 at 10 a.m. with Rev. Paul Schafer officiating. Interment in Greenwood Cemetery, Wheeling.
