Paul Abney was the son of Joshua Abney and Patsy Phelps. His sister was Rebecca K. Abney who married John Chancellor in Butler co 0n August 5, 1812. John was my great, great, great, great, grandfather. Joshua d in 1844 in Jefferson co, Elk Prairie twp, IL, and is buried there in the Abney graveyard near Nason.
Paul married Mary Beasley in Butler county, and bought his property from a Beasley, who seems to have been his father in law. If I can have your e-mail address, I can attach a W6 file of a letter to another of your cousins, dblus@bellsouth.net, a descendant of Paul Abney also, and a scan of a portion of the deed, which I have a copy of.
