Actually, Dannett ABNEY (Sr.) was the first ABNEY in America. The term "immigrant" wouldn't really apply since they left Great Britain only to arrive in the British Colony of Virginia. Therefore, Dannett was the first ABNEY Coloner.

It has never been proved that Dannett ABNEY's brother, Lt. Paul ABNEY ever settled in Virginia. In fact, not one record has been discovered in the British Colonies to show that he was here. Early researchers theorized that he came here. However, not only has that not been proved, it is now discounted by most serious ABNEY researchers, including myself.
