Your information is a little off. Bessie Lee Kizer (b. August 12, 1882? d. November 26, 1936 in Evansville, IN.) did married John William Abney. However, this Johm William (b. July 25, 1867/68 d. December 30, 1945) was the son of James Lewis Abney (b. 10-11-1850 d. 7-27-1937), son of John William Abney(b. 1826 in Butler Co., & d. 1870) who married Keziah Daugherty (b. 1827). Bessie Lee is my great grandmother.
Do you know when Keziah died? Her father was Moses Daugherty (b. ABT 1786 in VA. & d. 1848 in Ohio Co., KY.) And some say her mother was an unknown Cherokee Indian, others have told me that her mother's name is Lucinda Crowler. So, whether one or the other or both is true, I am not sure.
