I'm great grandson of Lon Abney, b May 1880 in McLean Co. He was son of Daniel M. Abney (b ~1859 in Butler Co.) and Mary Abney. Daniel was son of John W. Abney and Keziah (or Kezian) Daugherty. That John's second wife was Martha J.

Apparently, John W. (son of John W. and brother of Daniel M.) was a private in 11th Kentucky Volunteers and died in 1862 of typhoid. He would have been born in 1842-43 and enlisted at Rochester, KY. Got this from members.aol.com/bert1310/page11/index.htm, but haven't confirmed it. Not my line.

You have John W. (the father) was son of Paul Abney and Mary G. Beasley (married in Butler Co in 1821) with Paul being son of Joshua Abney and Patty (or Patsy) Phelps. Do you have dates and places for John W. and his ancestors?
