Yes, Samuel Abney (1772/1776 Ninety Six District/Old Edgefield Co., now Saluda Co., SC - 1802 present day Saluda Co., SC) married Mary Kennedy (1777 - 11 Oct 1852 Bibb, now Chilton Co., Ala). She did come to Alabama. Their children were Thomas Hamilton Abney, Elizabeth Abney, Mariah Abney married James Sample, Emmeline/Emily Abney married John Sweet Killingsworth. They did not have a son Samuel and Emmeline and Emily are the same person.
Thomas Hamilton Abney (1792 SC -1870 Ala) married Mary Ann Gosden/Gausden (about 1800 Delaware - 1848 Ala) in Richmond, Virginia. (Her mother probably married a Holmes at one time.) Thomas and Mary Ann's children were Mary Cecil, Frances Maria married Newton McDaniel Woodruff, Alexander Hamilton, Aurelia Elizabeth married George Washington Trammell, Virginia, Cincinnatus, Amanda Augusta, Henry Clay, twins Samuel and Zachariah, and Thomas Chesterfield Abney.
Samuel and Mary Kennedy Abney's children Thomas, Mariah and Emmeline came to Bibb/Chilton County and bought land around 1820/1830. In about 1850 Mariah and Emmeline and their families moved to East Texas. Thomas remained and one of his sons took over his plantation. It is still in the family today.
The history of this family is contained in my award winning book, The Legacy of Samuel Abney, Senior, Revolutionary Patriot, that untangles some of the early generations of Abneys in America starting with the immigrant ancestor.
