Help! I am looking for James GRAHAM born c. 1766 in PA, possibly Bedford Co., who moved to unknown area after 1784 when his son John was born; resided in Montgomery Co., KY in 1810; & Estill Co., KY in 1815. In Estill Co. his son Elijah married Jane ABNEY, 3 Feb 1815; his son James married Sally KING, 19 Aug 1821; his daughter Nancy married Jesse? GRUBBS 2 Dec 1818; his daughter Elizabeth married William ABNEY, 7 Feb 1819; his daughter Phebe married James DINSMORE, 24 Jan 1827. Additional presumed children include Stillwell and Lewis. Stillwell married Francis DUNCAN. No info on Lewis.
Elijah and Jane later lived in Gallatin and Carrol Co, KY. They also resided in Switzerland Co., IN where Elijah Graham died. Jane died c. 1871 at the home of her son, Tighlman Graham.
Elizabeth Abney and husband William lived in Decatur Co., IN and later Boone Co., IN.
James moved to IN where he lived in Decatur Co, Switzerland Co., and Boone Co where he died in 1847. At the time of his death he was married to Lavinia, Viney, Bell, the apparent mother of Lewis.
HIs son Rev. John Graham was a Baptist preacher in Switzerland Co., IN, from about 1820 to about 1851. He married Nancy Rogers 29 Jul 1830. He moved on to Delaware Co. IN where he died in 1861/2.
I directly descend from his son John who also married a Nancy Graham. Their children were Henry Rogers, my ggrandfather, Lucy Jane, Stephen H., Ann S., Joseph, William D., Mary E., Perry C., Edward H., John, Alta May, Bertha Mabel, and May.
One recurring given name in the Graham family is Tighlman/Tillman. I can find no marriage or connection to that family. Bennett is another given name which could be a surname that I have not connected. I also presume Stillwell to be named for a connection to the Stillwell family.
Any help or connections?
