Capt. Nathaniel Abney m. Isabella Madison. He was not the son of Dannett Jr. He was the son of George Abney m. Unity by a recorded deed declaring such: Halifax Co., Va. Court Orders 1763-1764 Plea Book 4, p. 31.
This Nathaniel was born April 4, 1734 in Va. and died July 17, 1806 (will proven Dec 12, 1806)in Edgefield SC. He married Isabella Madison. He was a Captain under Major Andrew Wiliamson, Edgefiedl Dist. Laurens Co., SC.
DO NOT CONFUSE him with another Nathaniel Abney, his cousin, who was son of Abraham Abney. This Nathaniel was married to Lucy....and they lived along with Abraham in 1775 in Long Cain Mills, SC. See Halifax Co., Va Deed Book 9, p. 385. These were two different Nathaniels.... Dannett Abney Jr. did not have a son named Nathaniel. See his will and there is none listed there nor do you find a Samuel Abney either as old errors have been reporting.
Who ever wrote that article did not have their facts straight or to be proved by a document.
