The 1860 Choctaw Co., AL census lists a John Abney and a Joel Abney. You can look them up on the Choctaw Co. AL Genweb site. I was researching the Clarke Co. and Jasper Co. Miss Abneys and found the Choctaw Co. AL Abneys during that search. I believe there is a Nathaniel Abny on the 1850 Census record. Good Finding.
