Have you proved your John's line came directly from Virginia? I saw in R. Robert Abney's work that the Kentucky Abney line developed as a result of the Abney family migration from South Carolina to Illinois, with one family stopping off in Stewart County, TN, one stopping off in Estill, KY and the remainder going on Illinois, with my line returning to TN and then on to Mississippi.
