Hi everyone ! I know it has been a long time since you posted on here, but thought I would try to contact someone.
My Glenn, Nelson, Floyd line came from the Saluda area of South Carolina ( Newberry ). I have seen and wondered about the Abneys there as I have an Abney line also, but have not really had time to try to connect yet.
My grandfather Samuel T. Knifong married Cora Cross Abney and lived in Pope Co. Arkansas: her father was Newton Abney who married Mary Tennison and lived in Missouri: Newton was the son of James M. Abney and Lucinda Bearden.
