It was just suggested to me that my g-g-g-g'mother Mary Abney Bates was daughter of Paul Abney of South Carolina. My Mary was born about 1785 in NC (per census) but her son Levi (b1818) was born in SC. She was living in Walker Co., AL with her son Levi Bates in 1850 and 1860. Does anyone have any information on children of Paul Abney?
