Dear Lindsay, I am from Clay County, Ky. My grandmother was Sudie Abner. I havn't started researching the Abners at this time. We do have both Abners and Bishops in Clay County.Kentucky became a state 6-1-1792. Clay Co. was named in 1806 but officially became a county in 1807. There has been research on the Bishops in Clay County. Hope this information helps. Danny L. Finley
