The information you have on Daniel ABLETT (my 3rd great grandfather) and Mary [CRISWELL] matches very well with mine. One difference is that I have his citizenship as October 1850. In addition, you have several details that I’m lacking.
I am very interested in Daniel’s and Mary’s parents. I found his and her possible parents on the web site of the Cambridgeshire Family History Society (http://www.cfhs.org.uk/), but I have been unable to confirm my suspicions that his parents were Philip and Elizabeth and here were David and Dinah Longstowe.
The Ablett, Murray, Ostrander, and Sault families seemed to have been close, and several members moved to Little Falls and Whitesboro, New York in the 1880s.
I’ll contact you off the forum to discuss this further.
